The formal inauguration of the Botany Association for the academic year 2011-2012 was done by Dr. C.P. Tara, Former head , Dept of Botany.
Activities of the association included:

Essay writing competition was held in connection with the Independence day, on the topic Role of Youth in the SocioEconomic Development of India.

A seminar on the Phytochemical Aspects and Cultivation Practices of Medicinal Plants was conducted. The resource person was Dr. Gracy Mathew, Scientist, Aromatic and  Medicinal Plants Research Station, Odakkali.
