The NCC has an active army subunit functioning in the College. Being the single largest youth organisation in the world, NCC provides the cadets with ample opportunities to enhance their character, leadership, initiative, drive and comradeship amongst the youth. The wide array of activities undertaken by the NCC include basic training sessions in first-aid, drill para signals, home nursing, communication, map reading and weapon training. Advanced training in mountaineering, rock climbing, para jumping and cycling offer the cadets exciting vistas to quench their thirst for adventure. Apart from building sense of patriotism, it also moulds the cadets into able and smart citizens of tomorrow.
Students are enrolled after a selection procedure. Those who acquire the prescribed training are given certificates, which make them eligible for grace marks in admission for higher studies - 15 marks for degree and for 5 marks for PG....read more...
2010-11 Activities
The NCC wing of the college currently consists of 52 cadets. 20 parades were conducted during the year 2010-2011.
The JUO Meera Babu and CQMS Nahuma Ahad participated in Special National Integration Camp held at Kavarathi, Lakshadweep from April 12-24, 2010. Sergent Aswathy K. Umesan participated in the National Integration Camp (NIC) held and Jammu & Kashmir in November 2010. Sergent Nayana Tensing won the third prize in the shooting competition at Pre-TSC held at Calicut. She was also selected for Mulangam Inter Directorate Shooting Competition held at Jalandar, Punjab in October 2010.
10 cadets attended the 'B' Certificate Examination and 6 cadets attended the 'C' Certificate Examination.
Sergent Nayana Tensing of the II B.A. History and Sergent Swthi Raja K. were adjudged the Best NCC Cadets for 2010-2011.
