Research Output:
St.Teresa's strongly supports research efforts and has five full-fledged Research Centres in Botany, Home Science and Sociology, Economics and English with 34 research scholars doing research.  

Laurels

• The United States Educational Foundation in India selected Dr. Aisha Raveendran of the Department of English for the Fulbright Pre-Doctoral fellowship for the year 2001-02 at the University of Wisconsin, USA.
  
• Ten M. Phil scholars from Annamalai University are also doing their research projects in the Department of Sociology and English.

At present five minor projects funded by the UGC are under way.

The project has two components

• Imparting consumer awareness and modes of availing consumer protection through planned dialogues with women at grass-root level for empowering them so that they contribute positively by acting as catalysts for changing perceptions on consumer rights.
• Theoretical research aimed at finding out the socio-cultural dimensions of consumer complaining behaviour, the dysfunctional     behavioural traits that increase the vulnerability of consumers and the exogenous factors and market environment characteristics that disempower consumers from availing protection.
