Association Activities 2010-2011

• The activities of the Mathematical Association was inaugrated on june 29,2010 at 9:45 amat Gym Plaza, by P P Mathew, Professor of Toc H institute of science and technology,Arakunnam.He delivered an informative inaugural address during which he interacted with the students.This was followed by the Fresher's day celebration.
• Alumnae meet was held on 10th july,2010.
• An awareness talk on AIDS by Mr. Renjith Kumar was organised on 21/7/2010
•  A one day instructional seminar was organised by our department in association with Kerala Mathematical Association on 31/07/10 for Mathematics students and teachers of different colleges . Dr.K. Muralikrishnan, NIT Calicut talked on Coding Theory, Dr. P B Vinodhkumar, Rajagiri Engg.College, Kochi took a class on Fractals and Dr.T.Thrivikraman, Academic Secretary KMA,  gave a talk on Digital Topology
•    A Talk on games and puzzles in graph theory by Dr Aparna Lakshmanan, St Xaviers College, Aluva was held on 15-9-10 
• On 29^th September 2010 , in collaboration with Rotary Club Talks on Personality  Development by MAS Menon, President, Cochin South Rotary, World of smileby  P D Sebastian, General Manager, Maruti Indus and Career guidance by R Venkat Raman, Career consultant were conducted.

•          A Talk on Stress Management by counselors  Mr Jomon and Ancy was held on  5^th October 2010

• On 6th ocober a quiz competition in connection with Gandhi Jayanthi was held in our dept. Mr.Renjith Kumar was the quiz master.Ashna Paul and Teena Mathew of II DC Mathematics got the first prize.

•    A Talk on Stress Management and Positive Thinking by Smt Shirly Tharakan, counselor was conducted on 3/11/2010

• A  Math fest   ZAHLEN 10  was conducted on 8th Dec 2010. Cine actor Mr.Jayasurya inaugurated the fest. An intercollegiate quiz competition and a competition on power point presentation was conducted as a part of the fest. Prof.Edwin and prof. Sabu of St Alberts College, Ernakulam were the quiz master and judge of power point presentation competition respectively . Students from different colleges participated in the competitions. For Quiz the first prize was won by Assumption College, Changanassery, the second prize by St.Paul s college, Kalamassery and third prize by U.C. College, Aluva. Mr George Koshy , a media consultant gave a talk on personality Development .                                                                                                                      A fabulous fashion show was conducted by the students of the Mathematics Department with the help of fashion designing students of St. Teresa’s College. The collection that was presented in the show was inspired from Mathematical Proportions.Different cultural programs organized by the degree students of Mathematics followed.

•  A counseling class by Smt.Shirly Tharakan was conducted for second year students on 12^th January 2011. 

• A farewell was given to Rev.Sr.Christabelle by students on feb 2011
