Extension Activities Conducted At Moolampilly
The department of Home Science, St. Teresa's College, Ernakulam conducted a series of extension activities at Moolampilly, an island off the mainland of Kochi. The particular place was chosen considering the backwardness of the area. Several preliminary studies focussing on dietary habits and food consumption pattern of several age groups, child care, household resource management and environmental sanitation and hygiene were undertaken. The studies indicated that there was a felt need for extension activities in the selected area. Subsequently, eight intervention packages were planned and executed in the month of March 2007.
