Ganagandharvan K.J Yesudas inaugurated a state-wide
programme on smoking at St.Teresa's College
on 26th October,2007. "Youngsters can do much on this issue and the drive against
tobacco must come from one's mind. We should change ourselves
before changing others." He advised the students to fight against the social evil by
creating awareness on how much threat it poses to health.
In his presidential address, Justice K. Narayana Kurup said
that passive smoking poses more threat than direct smoking. The programme was organised to spread awareness as the
government agencies have failed to implement the law which
bans public smoking.
