The Botany department of St. Teresa's college had its beginning in 1957 with 24 students on roll in the first year degree class. Now it has evolved into a full-fledged department with facilities for post graduation and research leading to Ph.D. degree.
There are 130 students at the B.Sc. degree level and 25 at the M. Sc. level.
The Research Centre : Eighteen research scholars from our department research centre have been awarded the Ph.D. Degree. At present there are 6 research scholars are carrying out active research.
